New York City: After United overbooked flight 3411 from Chicago to Louisville in the USA, three policemen forcibly removed an elderly Asian man who resisted and refused to give up his seat because he is a doctor and had patients he needed to see.
The airline officially said in a statement after this incident that the airline staff looked for volunteers and one passenger refused to leave the aircraft voluntarily and law enforcement was asked to come to the gate.
Later, United Airlines CEO Oscar Munoz said in a tweet: “I apologize for having to re-accommodate these customers.”
