Bhopal: In a significant development, a day after the news was widely flashed putting a question mark on the credibility of the Electronic voting machines forcing the Election Commission of India to depute two teams of officers of the Commission along with technical experts to ensure the correct functioning of electronic voting machines (EVMs) and Voter-verified paper audit trail (VVPATs) being deployed by bye-polls in the two Assembly constituencies -Ater and Bandhavgarh (ST) – the Election Commission on Sunday issued orders to remov the Collector, and Superintendent of Police of Bhind district and the Ater SDO of Police (SDOP).
Ilayaraja T has been removed as Collector Bhind. He has been replaced by Kiran Gopal, IAS. Sushant Kumar Saxena, IPS, goes as Bhind SP in place of Anil Singh Kushwah, IPS, and Manjit Singh, City SP Jabalpur, has been posted as SDOP Ater.
The Election Commission has also sought information from the State Government about six revenue officers and seven police officers and asked for how long they have been remained posted in Bhind district. These officers are Sahir Khan, Tehsildar Ater, Jahir Singh, Nayab Tehsildar Surpura, Vinod Tomar, Nayab Tehsildar Pipri, Balbir Singh Bhadoria, Nayan Tehsildar Phoop, Rajendra Singh Bhadoria, Patwari Village Didi, and Rajendra Verma Additional SP Bhind, Virendra Singh Tomar CSP Bhind, Shailendra Singh KushwahTI City Kotwali, Narendra Singh Verma, TI Ater, Surendra Singh Sikarwar, TI Umri, Vijay Singh Tomar, TI Phoop, Manish Jadon, SO Bahori and Sonilal Mathur, SO Phoop.
The Election Commission has asked the State Government to give a panel of names by 11 am tomorrow for filling the posts of 3 SOs at Pavai, Surpura and Ater.
