Bhopal-Ujjain train blast: Three detained, links with Kanpur train accident and ISI being probed
Bhopal: There was an explosion in the Bhopal Ujjain Passenger train this morning. The blast left at least 7 passengers injured- two of them were rushed in critical condition to Hamidia- the main referral hospital in the State capital.
Madhya Pradesh IG Law & order Makrand Devaskar has confirmed that today’s Bhopal-Ujjain passenger train explosion was a terrorist attack.
The 59320 Bhopal-Ujjain Passenger leaves Bhopal station at 6.40 am. Its departure was delayed by about one-and-half hour this morning. It was around 9.50 am when the train reached Jabdi station just before Kalapipal, there was a huge blast in the second last coach- a general compartment. The blast left several passengers injured, who were immediately rushed to the Kalapipal hospital. Those who were critical were rushed to Bhopal.
Police and other security agencies are investigating the bast. In a related development, the Madhya Pradesh police have detained three persons, who were found moving under mysterious ciscumstances, from Piparia near Bhopal. During interrogation, they have shared information which links them with the ghastly Indore-Patna Express train accident in Kanpur Dehat district of Uttar Pradesh last November. Pakistan’s ISI is said to be behind this accident.
Information extracted by Madhya Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) during the interrogation of those detained today has been shared with central agencies and the possibility of their link with the Kanpur train accident also has been verified.
