Sasikala surrenders, lodged in Bengaluru jail
Sasikala turned up before special court judge Ashwathnarayana after the Supreme Court earlier in the day rejected her plea for more time to surrender.
Sasikala travelled by road from Chennai,to the court in the central jail at Parappana Agrahara, 28 km from Hosur on Karnataka-Tamil Nadu border.
After completion of formalities and medical check up, Sasikala was lodged in the jail. Her request for more time to surrender and home food was rejected by court.
Sasikala’s relatives relatives V N Sudhakaran and Elavarasi have also surrended and are now in jail.
Sasikala left Jayalalithaa’s Poes Garden residence in Chennai went to Jayalalithaa’s memorial on Marina Beach, before leaving for Bengaluru this afternoon.
