UAE celebrates Flag Day with elan

uae-flagDubai: UAE celebrated its Flag Day on November 3 with full joy and elan.

H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, hoisted the national flag of UAE at a special ceremony at Zabeel Park here. About 20,000 students from different schools, representing 120 nationalities, witnessed the event.

All members of the UAE community, including private companies, were a part of this joyous occasion as Sheikh Mohammed had urged all members of the UAE community to launch a nationwide campaign to celebrate the UAE Flag Day on the November 3, which coincides with the anniversary of the President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s assumption of office as the head of the country.

Children’s faces were so lit up with happy expressions as Sheikh Mohammad greeted all the students at the venue and walked along with them.

Flag of the UAE

The UAE Flag contains the pan-Arab colors red, green, white, and black. They symbolize Arabian unity.

  • Red stands for hardiness, bravery, strength and courage
  • Green represents hope, joy, optimism, love and prosperity
  • Black stands for the defeat of enemies and the strength of mind
  • White represents peace, honesty, generosity and humanity
