A communication has been sent to National Sports Federations (NSFs) to register themselves with the NGO-PS Portal and several of them are already registered on the Portal.

NITI Ayog has made it categorically clear that no money is to be released by any Ministry to any non-Government organisation that has not registered itself with NITI Aayog NGO-PS Portal.

The steps to be taken for registration are prominently displayed on the NGO-PS Portal which is also known as NGO- DARPAN. In order to register, the NGOs have to fill up some online details such as names of the office bearers, address, registration details, and PAN number. This unique Id number will be used for applying for grants from the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports and Sports Authority of India.

Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Youth Affairs and Sports Vijay Goel has said that the requirement for registration on the NGO-PS Portal is in the interest of transparency and has urged NSFs to get themselves registered.
