Earlier, addressing the rally, Mayawati slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying that his Government and the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party were trying to politicise the sacrifices of the Indian soldiers.
The BSP rally at the Kanshi Ram Memorial here was organised to mark the 10th death anniversary Kanshi Ram, the founder of BSP.
The BSP leader accused the two main rivals parties Congress and the ruling Samajwadi Party of misleading the people for the sake of vote bank politics on the same lines as the BJP. Putting these parties in the same bracket, she announced that the BSP will comntest the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly election on its own.
Mayawati did not hold any punches and said that the rising graph of crime and atrocities against the Dalits and minorities in Uttar Pradesh shows that the ruling Samajwadi Party was moving on the same line as the BJP. She particularly expressed concern saying the Muslims and Dalits were being targeted by the “cow brigade” in Uttar Pradesh.
