Reservation in promotions for SC/ST category: Appeal by MP Government is listed for hearing in weekly list

Supreme Court of IndiaNew Delhi: The appeal against the High Court order that struck down Madhya Pradesh provision for reservation in promotions in state government departments for those belonging to the Scheduled Caste and Schedules Tribe (SC/ST) category, which was filed in Supreme Court by Madhya Pradesh Government, is listed for hearing in Supreme Court Weekly List No. 23 of 2016 for Wednesday, 21st September, 2016 and Thursday, 22nd September, 2016.

The case (C.A. NO. 5247/2016) is listed at serial no. 50 in Court No. 5 of Mr. Justice J. Chelameswar and Mr. Justice Abhay Manohar Sapre. The apex court earlier in May this year had stayed the Madhya Pradesh High Court order.
