sapaks convenrtionBhopal: SAPAKS – the organisation formed by Madhya Pradesh Government employees belonging to the general, backword and minority communities is up in arms against the State Bharatiya Janata Party Government led by Shivraj Singh Chouhan as it is adament and bent upon continuing reservation in promotions for the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

At a major SAPAKS convention in the State capital today, it was decided that all officers and employees associated with SAPAKS across the State will attend work on September 14 wearing a black band on their arms and in September 16 they will go on mass leave and hold a protest demonstration against reservation in promotions in front of the district collector’s office in every district.

sapaks conention 2Senior journalist Lalit Shastri was the chief guest. On this occasion, he launched the new website of SAPAKS (www.sapaks.in). Also present as special invitees were Professor BK Dave, retired chief engineers MK Shrivastava and MS Yadav.

SAPAKS has drawn attention to the provision of “creamy layer” when it comes to granting reservation for the other backward communities. In light of this, the demand has been raised to deny the benfit of reservation to those from the SC/ST category whose income is above a certain cut-off level.

SAPAKS has lashed out at the State Government for bearing the expenses incurred by costly advocates being retained by Anusuchit Jati Janjati Adhikari Karamchari Sangh (Scheduled Castes and Scheduked Tribes Officers and Employees Union)  -AJAKS. SAPAKS has stated in categorical terms that the Government has no right to spend money from the public exchequer against the interests of those belonging to the general, backward and minority communities who contribute 80 per cent of the revenue collected by the Government.

It has also been pointed out that the State Government’s decision to provide the benefit of Chief Minister’s employment scheme only to SC/ST families amounts to gross injustice when it comes to the general, backward and minority communities. It has been decided by SAPAKS to launch a Statewide awareness drive against this decision.

At the SAPAKS convention today, the issue of confidential reports of officers linked with SAPAKS was minutely discussed. It was pointed out that the CRs were being spoiled deliberately by officers from AJAKs and this was condemned by everybody present.
