Delhi Police cracks murder case of dance teacher: Two arrested

murderDelhi: The Police have arrested two persons for murdering 23-year old Gaurav, a dance teacher, within 24 hours of the heinous crime committed in the capital.

Those arrested by a team of Jaitpur Police Station of South-East District here are Deepak and Manoj, both 22 years old and residents of resident of Molarband Extension at Badarpur in the capital.

On 19 August, one Nitin Kumar resident of Hari Nagar Part-II at Jaitpur here reported to the police that at about 12:15 pm that, two boys aged about 20-22 years came to his house on a motorcycle and took his elder brother Gaurav (23) with them on their motorcycle. After about 20 minutes, a boy residing in the neighbourhood came to his house and told him that someone had stabbed his brother in Transformer Wali Gali, Hari NagarPart- II, Jaitpur and he was lying in the street in a pool of blood.

Gaurav was rushed to the Trauma centre at AIIMS and the local police was also informed about the incident. A case (FIR No. 463/16 u/s 307/34 IPC) was registered at Jaitpur Police station and investigation was taken up. On the intervening night of 19 and20 August, Gaurav succumbed to his injuries in the hospital and section 302 IPC was incorporated in the case.

Apolice team led by Inspector Ram Sahay Meena, and comprising of sub-inspectors Dinesh, Vishnu, Parvesh, Arvind, Constables Sanjay and Rajbir was immediately formed and it began investigating the muder case under the supervision of Ashok Saroha (holding charge as ACP/Sarita Vihar).

During investigation, it was revealed that deceased Gaurav was a dance teacher in ‘Jalwa Dance Academy’ Luvkush Chowk, Saurabh Vihar here. The identity of the assailants remained a mystery during the local enquiry. However, during questioning, the owner of the dance academy revealed that about 4 or 5 days ago, a quarrel took place between the deceased and a student Deepak on a minor issue. Deepak resides in Molarband Extension.

On the basis of local intelligence, the residence of the suspect-Deepak was traced but he was found to be absconding. Sources were then deployed and local intelligence was collected by the Police. In the afternoon on 20 August, Police received information that suspect Deepak would be coming to Molarband Extension and acting on this tipoff, the police team laid a trap and apprehended him.

During interrogation, Deepak disclosed that about 4-5 days ago, he had a quarrel with the Gaurav-the dance teacher-at the dance academy. The academy owner intervened and stopped the quarrel. On the night of 19 August, the dance teacher, along with other boys, had thrashed Deepak and he decided to take revenge. He arranged a knife and along with one Manoj went to the house of the deceased on a motorcycle and took him ton Transformer Wali Gali and stabbed him many times with the knife and fled from the spot on his motorcycle. Deepak’s accomplice Manoj was also apprehended from his residence. The motorcycle used in the offence has also been recovered by the Police.
