New Delhi: The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has arrested notorious human trafficker Jaswinder Singh, aka Barhmi (54yrs) wanted in three cases of human trafficking under IGI Airport Police station here. He was absconding since 2009.
On 19 July Police received information that Jaswinder Singh, a Proclaimed Offender would be coming near Barat Ghar on Main Sagarpur Road in Delhi to visit someone. On this information, a team led by ACP Sanjay Sehrawat and comprising of Inspr. P C Yadav, SI Mandeep, HCs Dinesh Kumar, Dinesh, Narender Singh, Vikal Singh, AjayKumar, Cts. Naresh, Ravi, Vijender, Rahul, Deepak, Brijesh, Ravinder and Rajesh was constituted under the supervision of DCP Bhisam Singh. A trap was laid near Barat Ghar and the accused was nabbed.
During interrogation, Jaswinder disclosed that he has studied up to 8th standard. Thereafter, he worked as a carpenter. He had earlir gone to Libya in search of work where he worked as a welder. In Libya, he came in contact with one Balbir Singh. After some time he returned to India and tried setting up his own business. In 1987, he went to Saudi Arabia and returned in 1991 when he again came in contact with Balbir Singh who was involved in a human trafficking racket. He was sending people abroad on forged passport and visas. Jaswinder also joined him and started sending people abroad on forged passport and visas.
Jaswinder was first arrested in 1985 (FIR No. 194/95 u/s 419/420/511 IPC and 12 Passport Act at PS Chanakyapuri, New Delhi) but he did not mend his ways and kept on indulging in similar malpractices. In 2009, two criminal cases (FIR No. 31/09 u/s420/468/471/120B IPC and 12 Passport Act and FIR No. 260/09 u/s420/468/471/120B IPC and 12 Passport Act) were registered against him at PS IGI Airport in Delhi. Another case (FIR No.248/15 u/s 420/468/471/120B IPC and 12 Passport Act was also registered against him at IGI Airport Police station.
