CBI arrests Delhi Government officials in a bribery case

cbiNew Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation today arrested five persons, including Senior Civil Servant – Rajendra Kumar, the Principal Secretary to the Delhi Chief Minister- and another official of Delhi Government, two ex-Directors of a Delhi based private company along with another person in an on-going investigation of a bribery related case.

The allegations in this case relate to bribery and abuse of official position by the Senior Civil Servant and others to favour a Delhi based private company in award of contracts of the Delhi Government.

The arrested accused persons will be produced tomorrow in the Designated Court in Delhi.

Searches were conducted on 15 December 2015 at 14 places in Delhi and UP at the official and residential premises of the accused persons which led to recovery of a large number of incriminating documents including cash totaling around Rs.13 lakhs.
