Dhaka hostage crisis ends; six terrorists killed; one captured alive
Dhaka (Bangladesh): After heavy gunfire commandos stormed a restaurant here Saturday and rescued at least 13 hostages ending an overnight siege by terrorists, half a dozen of whom have been killed and one has been captured alive.
The Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the terrorist attack on Holey Artisan Bakery, near the diplomatic area where many embassies are located. Many hostages have been killed in this attack.
“We were able to save 13 people … and of these terrorists six of them died on the spot, they died right there,” said Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at a press conference.
