New Delhi: President Pranab Mukherjee today signed the contorversial ordinance to defer by one year the holding of National Eligibility-cum Entrance Test (NEET)-the common medical entrance test for admission to medical colleges across the country.
The President signed the ordinance after he was reportedly briefed about the difficulties being encountered in introducing NEET by Union Health Minister J P Nadda yesterday. The President was informed about the different exams being conducted by state boards.
