New Delhi: Chief of Air Staff, air Chief Marshal Arup Raha has emphasized the need to build up mission capability of all platforms and weapon systems. He further reiterated the need for development and upkeep of infrastructure and fine tuning the human resource so as to be able to absorb induction of new technologies for a smooth transition of the IAF into a futuristic force.

The Chief of Air Staff was addressing the 2-day Commanders’ Conference of Western Air Command which concluded here today. Station Commanders and Air Officers Commanding of all Air Force Stations under HQ WAC attended the conference.
The Air Force Chief laid special stress on the role of Western Air Command in future operations of Indian Air Force. He appreciated the encouraging aerospace safety record of WAC and urged the field commanders to continue earnest efforts towards creating an environment for safe operations. He also appreciated WAC’s rapid response, untiring efforts and invaluable contribution in providing humanitarian assistance and disaster relief in recent times, which included Operation Rahat, Operation Maitri, Chennai Floods, Fiji Cyclone, Haryana Agitation, Operation Sonam, numerous causality evacuations and transportation of live organs.

The Air Force Chief stated that, these contributions made the IAF and the nation proud. He also lauded WAC on its performance during the recent IAF exercises including the fire power demonstration at Pokhran. He exhorted the commanders to refine their plans in consonance with the lessons learnt during these exercises to boost the war waging potential of WAC. CAS made a special mention on the need to maintain very high levels of vigil to ensure security of our air bases post the Pathankot incident. Later the CAS interacted with all personnel of HQ WAC and appreciated their dedication and professionalism and wished them and their families success in future.

During the conference, the discussions and reviews were focused on critical analysis and measures to enhance operational preparedness, further improvement in maintenance practices and ensuring fool-proof physical and cyber security.

The CAS was accompanied by Mrs Lily Raha, President AFWWA, who was received by Mrs Anjana Deo, President AFWWA (Regional). After the review of various welfare activities undertaken by stations within Western Air Command, the first lady of IAF also interacted with the Sanginis of WAC.

  1. Ser no-709489-B,Rank-SGT Trade-INST/FIT.DOE-12.10.1989 DOD-18.06.2009.At the time of discharge POR cleark of AFND has not taken POR for encashment of 30 daysfor year 2009. I have done several times queries to AFRO in this regards. But did nothing. So I raised SOC from my parent unit AFND two times. Till date I am not getting amount of 30 Days Encashment for 2009. Please Help.Last working at Dte of Engg Support,HQ RKP under AFND
