New Delhi: J.S. Mathur, lAS (MP:1982), who took over from S M Vijayanand, IAS (KL: 1981) as Secretary, Ministry of Panchayati Raj today, will also hold additional charge of the post of Secretary, Department of Rural Development in the Ministry of Rural Development for a month or till appointment of a regular incumbent to that post.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet had on 22 April approved the assignment of additional charge of the post of Secretary Department of Rural Development to Mathur.

In a separate development, the Central deputation tenure of Preeti Sudan, IAS (AP:1983), Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Women and Child Development has been extended for a period of three months with effect from 1 may 2016.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet today approved the proposal of the Ministry of Women and Child Development for extending Ms.Preeti Sudan’s central deputation.

Last Monday, the ACC had approved the extension of Central deputation of Ravi Capoor, IAS (AM: 1986), Joint Secretary Department of Commerce, in the Ministry of Commerce and industry for a period of three months beyond 17 May, 2016.
