man accused of spyingNew Delhi: Security forces in Balochistan had on Thursday claimed the arrest of a man who was ‘a serving officer in the Indian Navy and deputed to the Indian intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW).’ the online edition of Pakistani newspaper Dawn reported today.

Quoting a statement issued by New Delhi, the Dawn report also says that the Indian foreign office has denied having any links with the arrested individual and said “he was no longer a serving official of the Indian armed forces”.

According to Dawn, the Pak Government has claimed that they have recovered the travel documents and multiple fake identities of the arrested ‘spy’, establishing him as an Indian spy who entered into Balochistan through Iran — having a valid Iranian visa.

Security experts in India have hit back saying that the person arrested and being projected as a spy is being wrongly implicated to shift global attention away from the state and non-state actors involved in crushing the Baluchi people and also fanning acts of of terror in India.
