New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI has arrested a General Manager with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) posted at Ratnagiri & Sindhudurg in Maharashtra and another person in connection with an alleged bribery of Rs. 2 Lakh.
CBI has registered a case under sections 7and 12 of Prevention of Corruption Act and 120 B of Indian Penal Code against a General Manager of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited( BSNL) incharge of Ratnagiri & Sindhudurg in Maharashtra and a private person. It was alleged that the GM ,BSNL was demanding 3% cut in the bills relating to contractors and the private person was ensuring the deposit of bribe money into a third party account. The GM allegedly demanded Rs. 2 lakh and the private person subsequently accepted the said bribe in the account of third party from the complainant. The GM and private person have been arrested from Ratnagiri and Goa respectively.
The premises of the accused persons in Ratnagiri, Sangli (both in Maharashtra) and Goa were raided. The search by CBI at these places revealed immovable and movable property documents, locker key, several ATM cards and gold.
