Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan wants animal husbandry, fisheries and sericulture to be promoted to increase the farmers’ income.
The Chief Minister held discussions with senior officers at Mantralaya (State secretariat) here to push his agenda for increasing the farmers’ income. He told the concerned bureacrats, including Chief Secretary Anthony de Sa to engage in a brainstorming exercise to ensure the farmers’nome goes up by 100 per cent in the next 5 years.
The Chief Minister said that animal husbandry, poultry, sericulture and fish farming are activities that could significantly add to the farmers’ income. He told the officers that the best techniques and technologies that are available anywhere in the world should be introduced in Madhya Pradesh.
Chouhan said that Milk production is also a good way to increase income and went on to suggest that two model dairies should be developed in private sector in each district.
