Dubai: Budget carrier flydubai, which operates from United Arab Emirates, has confirmed that all 62 on board their flight FZ981 from Dubai that crashed just short of the runway in the southern Russian city of Rostov-on-Don early on Saturday morning are dead.
The first images received by Newsroom24x7 show debris of the Boeing 737-800 scattered on a wet runway.
The flight had travelled from Dubai in the UAE to Rostov-on-Don, with 55 passengers and seven crew members aboard. Eighteen men, 33 women and 4 children were on the plane, the airline has confirmed.
FlyDubai Chief Executive Ghaith Al Ghaith said that the airline is in deep shock adding: ” we don’t yet know all the details of the accident but we are working closely with the authorities to establish the cause”.
