Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today met Shankaracharya of Sharda and Jyotishpeeth Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati and invited him to the Simhastha festival in Ujjain next month
at Jharneshwar Mandir here today. Seeking his blessings, Shri Chouhan invited Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati to Simhastha.
The Chief Minister, who met the Shankarachaya at at Jharneshwar temple here said that his government is making constant efforts to ensure public welfare. He also informed him about the arrangements for the Simhastha festival.The chief minister said that a Rs. 1500 crore project has been chalked out for purification of Narmada river. Under the project, arrangements will be made in all cities on the banks of Narmada to keep the river clean.
The Shankaracharya lauded the State Government efforts for the upcoming Simhastha. Regarding Narmada purification, he had a special word of advice and went on to stress the need to ensure continuous flow of the river.
