JNUSU President Kanhaiya Kumar gets interim Bail

Kanhaiya KumarNew Delhi: Jawaharlal Nehru Students Union President Kanhaiya Kumar, charged for sedition, has been granted 6-months interim bail on a surety of Rs. 10,000 and a bail bond by a Delhi court.

Kanhaiya was in Tihar Jail for two weeks on the charge of sedition for organising an event on the JNU campus to commemorate Afzal Guru, hanged on Supreme Court order, in the Parliament attack case. The Police is sticking to the sedition charge. Although Kanhaiya is not seen shouting anti-India slogans in videos of the JNU event but there are witnesses who have testified to this, Police maintains.
