Sedition case against student leader: Delhi court witnesses lynch mentality
New Delhi: There was a repeat of what happened on Monday and the Patiala court here once again witnessed the lynch mentality on Wednesday when the Jawaharlal Nehru University(JNU) Student Union President Kanhaiya Kumar was produced and remanded to judicial custody till March 2 in the case of sedition.
A group of lawyers who allegedly assaulted journalists and the JNU students leader on Monday, again attacked Kanhaiya Kumar and others in the court premises right in front of the police while the accused was being produced for hearing. Violence began when two groups of lawyers, one of them supporting Kumar clashed in the court premises.
Journalists were also caught in the cross fire and the Supreme Court has sought a report in this connection.
In a statement this evening Union Finance and Information and Brooadcasting Minister Arun Jaitley has condemned the attack on journalists.
