Dubai: UAE has opened new gateways in politics as His highness Shaikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and the ruler of Dubai has inducted in his Cabinet eight new ministers – five of them young ladies who have excelled in their field of education.
Now there are 29 ministers in the UAE cabinet including eight young women and the youngest of them is 22. The average age of the cabinet is 38 years. The induction of new faces is being seen as a pioneering step to focus attention on promoting knowledge and good education to meet new challenges of the 21st century. It Cabinet expansion is being appreciated by many heads of states and is being considered as the turning point for generation next in UAE especially as two new Cabinet portfolios, Happiness and Tolerance have beeen introduced for the first time.
Happiness will channelise policies and plans to achieve a happier society. The other new post of Tolerance has been created to establish tolerance as a fundamental value of UAE society.
Two ladies, Ohood Khalfan Al Roumi, who was Director-General of the Prime Minister’s Office, has been appointed Minister of State of Happiness and Shaikha Lubna Al Quasmi, the former Minister for Development and International cooperation is the new Minister of State for Tolerance.
His Highness Shaikh Mohammed Bin Rashid, immensely regarded for his vision and foresightedness, believes that the youth has a potential, enthusiasm and plenty of innovative ideas that are needed to make the society tolerant, happy and healthy.
