PM hails Indian scientists’s role in historic detection of Einstein’s gravitational waves

Gravitational wavesNew Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday expressed his happiness over historic detection of gravitational waves wherein Indian scientists worked in collaboration with the research minds of globe, and proudly participated in the project that led to Einstein’s prediction getting a step further closer to reality.

On the scientific jargon of the entire finding — the find has been termed as an unprecedented revolution which could be key to new understanding of the Universe. A team of physicists announced on Thursday that they had heard and recorded the sound of two black holes colliding a billion light-years away, possibly the biggest breakthrough in physics in a century which could factually justify the last prophecy of Einstein’s General Theory of Relativity, the New York Times reported.

Meaning to scientifically say, the ripples in the fabric of space-time which Einstein had predicted nearly a century ago, has been proven realistic by that faint rising tone – which, physicists claim, projects itself to be the first direct evidence of gravitational waves. It is a ringing confirmation of the nature of black holes, the bottomless gravitational pits from which not even light can escape, which were the most foreboding part of Einstein’s theory.
