On the beastly stripping of a Tanzanian lady student

Jamsheed Rizwani

Bangalore's shameHorrified by the bestial attack on a Tanzanian lady student in Bengalaru….. Xenophobic and racist attitudes seem to sink root deeply in the garden city which is no longer a garden but a maelstrom of cars, buildings and teeming millions flocking to cash in on the IT mega rush…….The city which was once a peaceful and friendly metropole has been transformed into a nightmare of traffic, of communal problems and lately this spate of violence against foreigners…… if this continues, there is likely to be a backlash and a steady exodus of multinational giants towards more pleasant, peaceful havens…The government of Karnataka must act immediately to stem the flow of such stupid, racist attacks on foreigners because they are foreigners The rabble rousing troublemakers must be brought to book and severely punished..
With many Indians, I apologise profusely to the attacked lady for the treatment meted out to her…..and I hope she will recover fully physically and morally from the shameful attack……I haven’t heard or seen any apology from the local government nor from the central government as yet….but I do hope that there will be an official reaction to this racist attack.

Indeed! An immensely embarrassing and awful act by the Bengaluru cops. Exploiting their power ruthlessly and further pulling down the city’s dignity by this massive black dot.
