New Delhi : Pathankot attacks have shaken not only the state of Punjab, but rippled its effect over the entire country, and the central government is taking follow-up steps to clearly detail the entire militant operation. In a bid to take direct update from the crime scene first hand, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar along with Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha and Army Chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag will today visit the Pathankot Air Base, which was attacked by Pakistani terrorists on Saturday.
The trio is scheduled to visit the strategic base, situated about 35 km from the border with Pakistan, in the day time today.The objective of these co-ordinated overview is to get a first hand assessment of the ground situation after six terrorists were killed by security forces.
The central government has already issued security audit of all vital defence installations in the country to find out the possible security loopholes. This visit can be seen in the light of such activity, and hopes to tighten any loose ends lying open at the attack base.
