New Delhi: External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj expressed concern over the Saudi employer’s violence incident, wherein three Kerala persons promised of employment in Saudi Arabia were shortchanged and received beatings in exchange of false promises made to them over recruitment by their employer. Swaraj assured today that the three men had been given police protection and the matter would be followed up further.
According to reports, three men got duped by a placement agency taking up recruits for Saudi Arabia, which made false job promises to the victims and sent them to Saudi Arabia, where they were allegedly attacked by their employer. The evidence, which came up through a Whatsapp video, revealed how a Saudi employer was found beating the men with a wooden plank. The reports knocked the doors of External Affairs ministry which took cognizance of it and replied from the tweet window of Minister. In response to the reports, Swaraj tweeted – We have approached the police and got them police protection. We will follow this up.
