Dubai Mall defines Dubai as global fashion capital

VFDEDubai Mall recently opened the gateway of fashion for the whole world by celebrating Style Couture with the third edition of Vogue Fashion. The event was organised jointly by Vogue Italia and Emaar groups.

It was for the first time that Dubai witnessed a mega fashion event at such a grand scale. Designers from all over the world chose the runway show at Dubai Mall’s fashion catwalk to showcase their talent and creativity.

The finalists of Fashion Dubai will now have the opportunity to participate next year in Pitti Uomo in Florance and in Rome.

The Dubai Mall in U.A.E is the largest shopping mall in the Middle East.

It is a mall that is associated with many brands. Dubai itself is very rich in fashion. It symbolises the latest trends and every single fashion brand to reckon with is availabe here under one roof.

logoThe Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience (VFDE) was held at Dubai Mall on 29-30 October 2015. The fashion extravaganza rolled out over 250 brands from Asia,Africa and Middle East.

The audience included  the who’s who of the fashion world. Emaar’s chairman Mohamed Alabbar who is the founder and chairman of Emaar Properties and Vogue Italia editor-in-chief Franca Sozzani, were prominent among those to be spotted in the front row.

The contest was divided into three categories – men’s wear, women’s wear and accessories.

In the end, Out of 25 designers only eight very talented young designers were selected. They were:

• Krikor Jabotian
• Studio 189
• Xiao Li
• Arthur Arbesser
• The Kayys
• L72
• Reem Al Kanhal
• Melitta Baumeister

The VFDE worked on two main projects Dubai Mall talent scouting and Who is on next?

VFDE’s main focus is on spotting the leading regional brands and giving them the chance to compete with internationally acclaimed brands. The designers who have stood out at VFDE will have the opportunity to use a temporary store in Dubai Mall as a retail outlet. Through this mega event Dubai is not only giving a unique chance to the fashion industry but also encouraging the young and talented designers to come up and recreate the designs for generation next.
