Peshawar : 10 gunmen attacked a guard post and then stormed into Badaber air base in Peshawar. Security forces reached to the base and cordened off the area. Retaliation fire from forces started a gun battle which is still under progress.

The major exchange of fire gunned down six militants but the clearance operation is not complete yet.

Peshawar has been in the target radar of militants time and again. Last year 150 people were killed when Taliban gunmen attacked an army-run school and took children hostage.

This attack of today has not been claimed by any group yet.

Security forces are in full action and trying to bring the encounter to a quick successful end.
