Kolkata : West Bengal government made available 64 secret files on Freedom Fighter and national pride Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose open for public perusal. These will be available from monday for any and everyones’s reference.
Termed as Classified and hidden under secret closet for more than couple of decades, these files with over 12,000 pages are on display at Kolkata police museum. With BJP and Congress already fighting over history and making all veterans and leaders appear wronged or ill-reported in history sheets, this new development is bound to throw open many more secrets and disputed claims in the times to come.
Demanding the centre to follow WB footsteps, Chief Minister Mamata Bannerjee stated that since Netaji’s death date is not yet known, the centre should take initiative and release relevant files to open preview.
Netaji’s kin has been protesting against snooping upon the senior generation of this prestigious family and has raised voices of having being under surveillance and have demanded answers from previous and present governments.
Some files had been declassified earlier which are present in National Archives in Delhi.
