FinMin to Bihar CM- Time for debate on Bihar development is over
New Delhi: Bihar elections are making politicians from ruling government in centre and state take various positions on voter enticement. The latest came in evening of Thursday when Finance Minister Arun Jaitley expressed his statement on Bihar’s development. Jaitley spoke during the launch of BJP youth wing BJYM’s nationwide ‘Panch Kranti Abhiyan’ on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday.
Jaitley portrayed his confidence of winning the polls by saying that BJP will do a repeat bumper performance of Lok Sabha in this assembly polls in Bihar. Taking a shot at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his development promises, Jaitley hit out saying that time for debate on development was over as it had been proven that Gujarat fared No 1 and Bihar stood at 21 in the ‘Ease of Doing Business’ position of World Bank report.
Taking a stand on the alliance of RJD and JD(U), Jaitley stated that both Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad Yadav had brought disgrace to Ram Manohar Lohia’s legacy by aligning with Congress for Bihar polls, and both leaders failed to develop the state in the last 25 years when they were in power.Jaitley added, these leaders who did politics in the name of socialist Lohia, who always opposed Congress, today sit in its office for addressing joint press conferences.
‘Nitishji says let us debate the development issue. What is there to debate? This debate is over. Gujarat is number 1 and Bihar stands at 21. The economy speaks through statistics and not through debate’ said Jaitley.
Jaitley also said Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi was given the role of a “warm-up speaker” at a recent rally of the Grand Alliance and that the opposition party, which was stalling Parliament, will be further eased out in many states.
