Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh: GSLV-D6 was launched on schedule at 4.52 p.m. and the liftoff was very close to pre-flight projections,
The heat shield separation was completed 230 seconds after the launch and the after 279 seconds, when the rocket was 550 kms from earth the GS2 was separated and the cryogenic engine was ignited.
