Mumbai: There is a new twist to the mystery surrounding the murder of a young lady whose body was dumped in Raigad district of Maharashtra in 2012 with one of the prime accused arrested in this case by Mumbai Police, high-profile media tycoon Indrani Mukherjea telling the police investigatros that the victim – Sheena was her daughter and not sister as projected.

Indrani’s son Mikhail Bora has also come forward and given a statement confirming that Sheena was his sister. he said that the last time he was in contact with Sheena was in September 2011.

Indrani, wife of former Star TV CEO Peter Mukherjea, was married twice earlier. Indrani’s step son Rahul Mukherjea was seeing Sheena and it is understood that this gave rise to the conflict leading to the murder.

Peter Mukherjea today talking to the media said: “I don’t understand what’s happening with regard to my wife” with the way things are clearing on the landscape. He said that Indira maintained that Sheena is her sister. He went on to reveal that his son (Rahul), who was in a relationship with Sheena, had told him that she was Indrani’s daughter but he did not believe it. He further said that he had no knowledge that Indrani had been married not once but twice before they got married.

Indrani had also told him that Sheena had shifted to Los Angeles in the US, said Peter adding his wife had shown pictures of Sheena on facebook to establish she was in Los Angeles.

The Mumbai Police said that they could crack this case after arresting a person under the Arms Act on 21 August. After he confessed his involvement in a murder, he was taken to Raigad where he identified the spot where the victim’s body was disposed.

Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria said in a statement that “Sheena Bora was killed on April 24, 2012. She was strangulated and her body set on fire.  Her body was found on May 23, 2012. She was killed by Indrani Mukerjea, her driver and her ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna. All three have been arrested.”

Investigators have hit upon a startling bit of information. While Sheena was murdered on 24 April 2012, a resignation on her behalf was received by her employers by email account on May 5. The Police is investigating who had access to her email account and had sent the email obviously as a cover up.

After arresting Indrani and her driver, the Police also arrested today Indrani’s ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna from Kolkata. he runs a resort in 24 Pargana. The Mumbai police., it is understood, is sending teams to Guwahati, where Sheena was living and also Dehradun where Peter Mukherjea’s son Rahu lis suppoosed to be living.
