Maharashtra CID arrests NCP MLA Ramesh Kadam
Mumbai: Maharashtra CID has arrested National Congress Party (NCP) MLA Ramesh Kadam on corruption charges based on an FIR lodged against him in July on a case concerning misappropriation of funds.
Kadam is the Chairman of Annabhau Sathe Mahamandal, located at Dahisar, a corporation from which Kadam has been alleged to have swindled and siphoned away huge amounts of money.
The scam amount is estimated to be around 141 crores of Rupees. He has been framed with charges of having taken away the funds from PSU meant for backward classes and the poor and pooled it into organisations he controls, like the one above mentioned, besides making several bad transactions leading to losses for the PSU.
