BJP-Congress war continues in Parliament

Parliamentarians of India by Anoop SwaroopNew Delhi : The war of words between ruling party BJP and the main opposition party Congress continued and got carried forward to yet another day in both the Houses of Parliament today.

In Lok Sabha, proceedings began with Union Minister Sushma Swaraj urging the chair to accept adjournment motion moved by Mallikarjun Kharge of Congress related to holding a discussion on allegations against her on the Lalit Modi controversy.

 At this junction, the Congress members pressed for Prime Minister’s presence in the House. As the ruling side did not meet this demand, the question hour continued amidst loud protests. There was also  a brief adjournment.

In the meanwhile, Rajya Sabha was adjourned till the afternoon with only 2 days remaining for GST bill to be passed as the monsoon session will come to an end. The proceedings were adjourned as Congress members rushed to the well and continued shouting protest slogans.
