Tokyo: “WalkCar”, a mini transporter developed by Japanese engineer Kuniako Saito, will open up a new way to commute.
Walkcar is powered by a battery and is laptop sized. it can be carried in a bag and once its battery is fully charged it can go up to 12 kms at a speed of about 10 kms per hour. The battery takes about 3 hours to charge.
Saito told media “What if we could just carry our transportation in our bags, wouldn’t that mean we’d always have our transportation with us to ride on?’ and my friend asked me to make one, since I was doing my masters in engineering specifically on electric car motor control systems.”
These futuristic walkers are slated to hit the market by mid 2016 at a price tag of approximately $800 (USD). Bookings will begin shortly on Kickstarter – the global crowd funding platform.
