Bhopal: Whistle blower in VYAPAM scam Prashant Pandey’s wife was picked up by Indore Police in Madhya Pradesh after sunset on Saturday and released after interrogation.

According to the police, an inforner had tipped off about a Hawala transaction and a woman with more than Rs 9 lakh was nabbed near Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Indore on Saturday evening, She was interrogated and then rekeased. The police have seized the cash in her possession.

Ms Pandey denied the hawala charge and  told media persons that the money was actually meant to be used to buy a property.

Following the police action, Prashant Pandey wrote on facebook on Saturday night that khakhi clad men had illegally detained one of his family members while he was in Delhi. He said in his social media post that if the detention leads to any mishap, not only the Government of Madhya Pradesh but so many Central Ministers and policemen, against whom he has submitted evidence through his “snoopings” and VYAPAM petitions in the Supreme Court, will be held responsible.
