Delhi Police arrests an engineering dropout mobile number fraudster

delhi policeNew Delhi : An Engineering student of Symbiosis College of Engineering, Pune, Akshay Shyam Agarwal, who dropped out of his college education, has been nabbed by Delhi Police on a cheating and duping case (FIR No 45/15, dated 11th Feb’15, under section 420 of Indian Penal Code).

Complainant Yogesh Gupta stated that in a desire to obtain fancy VIP Mobile Phone Number series, he had come in contact with Akshay, who made him part with 4 lakhs of rupees, in the name of his company called Number Vault Pvt. Ltd.

Akshay, a resident of Kolkata was nabbed and formally arrested by a team comprising of Assistant Commissioner of Police Ranbir Singh and his teammates. It was found that due to his adept knowledge of mobile number series and good technological competence, Akshay had mastered the art of alluring people into providing attractive, easy-to-remember, ultra-unique mobile number series, in exchange of huge sums of money. However, his company which received the money was a fraudulent enterprise and did not provide the fancy mobile numbers. Cash worth 3 lakh and 3 mobile phones were recovered from Akshay’s premises.
