CBI registers 13th FIR in VYAPAM case
Bhopal: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today registered the 13th FIR under Sections 120 B, 420, 467, 468, 471, 477A of Indian penal Code; Sections 3(1-2), 4 of MP RECOGNIZED EXAMS ACT 1937; Sections 65, 66 of IT ACT & Sections 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 against 52 accused persons related to alleged Vyapam cases.
The VYAPAM scam revolves around massive irregularities in medical admission tests and recruitment of staff for many state departments, including contractual teachers and transport constables.
CBI has taken over the investigation of FIR No.18/14 of 14 October 2014 which was earlier registered by the Special task Force (STF) of Madhya Pradesh Police on the allegations of alteration in Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheets by VYAPAM functionaries in connection with Transport Constable Recruitment Test 2012.
CBI earlier registered 12 FIRs and 5 Preliminary Enquiries in alleged Vyapam cases.Further process of taking over of remaining cases is under way.
