Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Assembly was adjourned for the second day in a row on Tuesday as the main opposition Congress MLAs demanded Srate Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s resignation on the VYAPAM issue and continued to raise slogans in the well of the House.
The Congress legilators were unrelenting on the issue of VYAPAM scam which relates to massive irregularities in medical admissions and recruitment of government staff by State Professional Examination Board. They did not allow the question hour to proceed. As many congress MLAs were protesting in the well, the Speaker was twice forced to adjourn the House – once briefly and then for an hour. When the House reassembled after the second adjournment, the speaker rushed through the listed business. He then adjourned the House for the day but not before a resolution to censure the Congress, moved by Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Narottam Mishra, was passed by voice vote.
