New Delhi/Bhopal: The ruling BJP leadership, including prime Minister Narendra Modi and party president Amit Shah, were busy on Sunday doing lot of firefighting and preparing the strategy to face the Opposition onslaught in the monsoon session of Parliament on the issue of the massive VYAPAM scam of Madhya Pradesh and the Lalit Modi controvesry involving Union Minuister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje .

On Sunday, there were two rounds of crucial meetings – one at the prime Minister’s official residence and the other at BJP president Amit Shah’s residence. While Union Ministers Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj and Rajnath Singh along with the Rajasthan Chief Minister attended the meeting at Modi’s residence, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who returned to Bhopal after taking off earlier during teh day due to bad weather and flew to Delhi later met the BJP president later in the evening.
According to party insiders, it has been decided by the BJP to go on the offensive by targetting the Congress led opposition for number of scams that had surfaced during the previous UPA regime. The BJP leadership has rubbished all talk of resignations.
While the outcome of deliberations in Delhi today have come as a respite for Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, who is facing heat due to the Vyapam scam, there is going to be turbulence in days to come especially as the main Opposition Congress has decided to go no holds barred on the issue of the Vyapam scam in the monsoon session of MP Assembly beginning on Monday.
