Bhopal: On the directions of Supreme Court of India, the CBI has taken over the investigation in the massive VYAPAM cases and registered a set of FIRs against 57 accused.
FIRs had earlier been registered and criminal proceedings initiated against the accused in the VYAPAM case by the State Task Force of Madhya Pradesh police.
The First case has been registered under Sections 419, 420, 467, 468, 471, 474 read with 120B of IPC relating to alleged illegalities in the Pre Medical Test of Madhya Pradesh 2010 involving 21 accused persons.
The Second case has been registered under Section 419,420, 467, 468, 471 read with 120 B of IPC and Section 3/4 of the Madhya Pradesh Recognized Examination Act against 8 accused and others on the allegations of impersonation, cheating, forgery and criminal conspiracy in the Pre-Post Graduation Medical Examination of Madhya Pradesh conducted by VYAPAM in 2011
The Third case has been registered under Section 419, 420, 467, 468, 471 read with 120B of IPC relating to alleged illegalities in the Pre Medical Test of Madhya Pradesh conducted in 2009 and 2010 involving 28 accused persons.
Records have also been called from the District Police of Ujjain, Kanker, Gwalior, Jhabua and Indore relating to the alleged deaths of Namrata Damore, Vijay Patel, Rajendra Arya, Deepak Verma and TV journalist Akshya Singh.
Further process of taking over the remaining cases is also underway.
