MP, Rajasthan Chief Ministers discuss process for allocation of Central funds to States
New Delhi: Chief Minister of central Indian state Madhya Pradesj Shivraj Singh Chouhan along with Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje Scindia today held discussions with senior officers of Union Finance Ministry about the process to be adopted to allocate funds to states under Centrally sponsored schemes following the replacement of the now disbanded Planning Commission with NITI Ayog.
Chouhan is the Convener of the Sub-Group formed for rationalisation of states’ share in Centrally sponsored schemes and the funding pattern.
The Sub-Group had held its first meeting on April 27. It wa attended by members of the committee, including Chief Ministers of Manipur, Arunachal, Jharkhand and Rajasthan and Finance Minister of Jammu-Kashmir
NITI Ayog’s CEO Sindhushri Khullar informed the Chief Ministers that teams have started gathering suggestions from the States. After this process gets completed, a draft will be presented at Sub-Group’s meeting in Bhopal on May 28. State’s Chief Secretary Anthony de Sa and senior officers were also present at today’s meeting.
