Grant to promote global reach of Australian artists

The Australian Government on April 27 announced two grants that will increase the global reach of Australian artists through appearances at international showcase events. Australia Council grants enable Australian artists and arts organisations to explore international markets and develop and present their work to new audiences. Music manager David Batty and musician Simon Lam will receive Australia Council International Showcase grants to support performances at key events overseas.

$3.8 million to support aged care 

Aged care providers will be supported with training and resources to assist them to deliver culturally appropriate care for older Australians due to a $3.8 million investment by the Abbott Government. Parliamentary Secretary with special responsibility for multicultural affairs Senator Fierravanti-Wells said essential training and resources will support aged care providers to deliver care that is appropriate and sensitive to people from different backgrounds.
