Pachmarhi (Madhya Pradesh): Much headway has been made in the central Indian State of Madhya Pradesh in enforcing the Right to Education but still there are significant gaps that need to be bridged.

This was pointed out by Trevor Clark, Chief UNICEF,  Madhya Pradesh while setting the tone at a workshop on ‘Using social/web media to raise discourse on School Education’.

Clark was also specific in emphasising that just as right to education is important, ‘right to learn’ is also a fundamental right of all children. Only by addressing the problem of learning divide, one could look forward to all-round progress, he said asserting the symbiotic relationship between education and development.

Clark underscored the need to mobilise resources and partners to ensure protection of  ‘right to education’ and the ‘right to learn’.
