New Delhi:The Delhi Police has accused the Aam AAdmi Party leaders of instigating farmer Gajendra Singh to commit suicide duting a party rally at Jantar Mantar here on Wednesday.
The allegation against AAP leaders stands out in the FIR registered by the Parliament street police station in New Delhi after the farmer’s suicide. It has also been recorded by the police that AAP leaders and activists did not allow the police to intervene and reach the spot to bring the situation under control during their party rally.
The Delhi police has also taken the stand that the district magistrate has no jurisdiction and cannot conduct an inquiry into this incident.
The Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day after a discussion on this issue.
The suicide by Gajendra Singh, the farmer from Nangal has been reduced to a tug of war between the BJP led Union Government and AAP. This is apparent as the union Home ministry that controls Delhi Police has used the uniforned force to check and corner the AAP led Delhi government by telling the DM that he cannot conduct a probe into the farmer’s death. Not just the Delhi police, even Home Minister Rajnath Singh has said that AAP leaders and workers had instigated the farmer by shouting slogans.
