Bhopal: Jet Airways flight 9W2423 with 59 passengers and 8 crew members on board develops snag in landing gear upon landing at the Khajuraho airport in the Central Indian State of Madhya Pradesh on Monday afternoon.
Jet Airways said in a statement that flight 9W 2423 from Varanasi was involved in an incident on landing at Khajuraho airport earlier today. The aircraft, a B737-800 experienced a technical problem with the landing gear after landing. Safety chutes were deployed, emergency doors were opened and all 59 passengers and 8 crew on board the aircraft disembarked safely and were transferred to the terminal.
Jet Airways made arrangements to transfer outbound guests to Varanasi and Delhi. An additional flight was being operated on the Delhi-Varanasi sector to assist in accommodating the outbound guests.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has been informed of the incident. The safety of its passengers is the airlines number one priority and Jet Airways will be working closely with the authorities during the investigation into the cause of this incident.
