CBI arrests DDA officer for accepting bribe

cbiNew Delhi:The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Section Officer in the Horticulture Division of Delhi Development Authority (DDA) at the Sheikh Sarai office here for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 1,00,000 from a complainant.

A case was registered against the DDA officer under Section 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 on the charge that he was demanding a bribe of Rs. 2,00,000 for clearing the bills of the complainant. CBI laid a trap and the accused was caught red-handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 1,00,000 from the Complainant.

Searches are being conducted today in the office & residential premises of the accused.

The arrested accused is being produced today in the Designated Court, Delhi.
