New Delhi: With the arrest of two accused persons, the South-West District Police has busted a gang of robbers involved in a number of robberies at different places in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR), including Gurgaon and Bahadurgarh.
More than 10 cases including Murder, Robbery, Kidnapping for ransom, attempt to murder and carjacking has been solved with these arrests. The police have also recovered a robbed Swift car from the accused..
On April 4, secret information was received by head constable Jai Bhagwan posted at the Najafgarh police station here that Pradeep alias Birju, who had robbed a Verna Car from Delhi Gate at Najafgarhon during the Diwali festival last year was coming to meet his girlfriend at Nangli Vihar at Najafgarh and it was possible to nab him by conducting a surprise raid. This information was passed on to sub inspector SP Samaria and the Najafgarh SHO. A team comprising Sub inspectors SP Samaria and Ravi, Head Constable Jai Bhagwan, and constables Ashok Shokeen, Giri Raj, Amarpal, and Kuldeep was formed to conduct the raid and two persons Amit Kumar alias Kachchar alias Kannu (28) and Pradeep alias Birju (30) were arrested.
Police had announced a reward of Rs. 15000 on Pradeep in a case under the Arms Act and a similar reward was there on the arrest of Amit Kumar in a case registered under various sections of IPC, including attempt to murder. A reward of Rs. 33000 was also there on Amit Kumar in a murder case.
